Lets send something from your desktop to a mobile device shall we?

Head over to your browser, we have been using Chrome but you can use Firefox, Waterfox, and many others however, some browsers are tad overzealous on the security and may be more difficult than others. Opera seems to be ok, Brave just depends on the user, Safari is, well, Safari, enough said… we implemented our version of Zoof via a browser so that you wouldn’t need to install anything to use it.

Bring up your browser and enter app.zoof.one as the URL

If you are online you will land on the welcome page almost immediately.

Simply enter the email address that you would like your account to be created under. Our system will create an account if one does not exist. So, enter your email address in the box and press the return key.

You will receive an email with a code – you will need to enter that code into the boxes that have appeared below the email address that you had previously entered.

If you enter the code correctly, you are automatically signed in. On your first try with Zoof, it will ask you to enter your first and last names, we did this to make sure people you send files to, would recognise your name, they will be more likely to accept a request when rather than a stranger trying to send them something.

Once you have entered your first and last name fields you are ready to Zoof your first file

At the bottom of the page you will see a HOME SEND RECEIVE PROFILE icons

Lets send something from a desktop to a mobile device.

You are sitting in front of your screen on your laptop or desktop at the HOME screen.

Now, press the SEND button that will automatically bring up the filemanager and from there you can navigate to a file that you would like to try to send. pick a file that is 5-50Mb if you like just to start you off and see how your network handles these loads that you are going to start sending.

Once you picked the file, press DONE and you are back at the home page with zoof “preparing” the file, we have our little kitty “Stella” will play with the ball until she is done and you see a QR code and 2 additional buttons below COPY LINK and EMAIL

We provided 3 means of sending the link to your destination in case you were in the same room, you could simply scan the QR code, if you you wished to send the link via a social nework, you can cut and paste into any network, the email embeds the link in an email and uses your email system to send the email to your intended recipient.

NB: once the link has been “prepared” do NOT refresh the page as this has the effect of killing the link you just created. so leave the tab open until the recipient has received the file.

Take your mobile phone and scan the QR code on the screen from your desktop or laptop you will go through the same process of signing in, if you have not previously signed in, and going through the same instructions as i have explained above only this time, the system will see the qr code and let you know that “your first name, your last name” would like to send you a file, with the filename and size and you are requested to accept or deny the request. if you press the accept button the delivery will begin

the file will begin its delivery from your desktop to the mobile device directly. as it is sending, the progress circle on both devices will update. as it leaves, it will show a % of how much has been sent…and on your mobile it will show how much it has delivered.

when the progress circle has filled in and is displaying 100% it will ask if you would like to save the file. press the “save” button on the mobile device and it will let you know that it is now moving that file from temporary memory into the filesystem by asking for you to “download” the file. its not downloading but moving the file. after it has moved the file, it will ask if you would like view it or make a log of the delivery by pressing the archive button.

You will have a log of this delivery in your “recent transfers” section of your home page.

At the sender end (the desktop/laptop) a popup will appear asking if you would like to archive the delivery too. don’t worry if you forget or don’t remember to do this, we have a log of it.

Now you can read or view the file however you like. if you are an iphone user and default safari, then within safari there is a view downloaded files. that’s where you will find the file. on an iphone there is also a file icon that you can press and navigate to the downloads directory where you will find the file.

If you are using an android device simply navigate to the downloads directory and you will find the file there. if you send a file TO a desktop/laptop then the default is always the downloads directory on both mac and pc.

If you still don’t understand how to send a file there will be videos uploaded to youtube to help you and if that still is causing you heartburn, take two TUMS , i find a cup of tea helps too, and reach out via our form here on the support section and we will be glad to help.
