Follow these steps to receive a file from someone else or between your devices.
1. You can start the transfer of a file to you, by one of the 3 methods available:
a) Scan the QR code from the sender
b) Open the received link from the application it was sent to you (e.g. Signal, WhatsApp, Instagram, etc), it should have the format of: https://transfer.zoof.one?id=060294f8228544f5a9a091b1786e847db6e0e3e0
c) Open the received link from the email that was sent to you, it should have the format of: https://transfer.zoof.one?id=060294f8228544f5a9a091b1786e847db6e0e3e0
2. The Zoof receive screen will open
3. Shortly after, the information about the file should appear in the screen
a) The arrow down means this is a transfer to you from someone else
b) The filename is listed to ensure you are receiving the right file
c) The file size is shown for reference
d) And the date/time the transfer had been initiated
e) On the full right the progress indicator is displayed, ranging from 0-100% at 100% the transfer has completed successfully to the receiver.
4. The transfer should start soon after the file information is shown. The progress bar will move from 0-100%. 100% meaning the transfer has completed successfully. Additionally you will see the number of “Received bytes” change.
5. When the transfer is complete, the progress will be at 100% and a [Save] icon will be shown. When clicking/tapping on the file details, you’ll be able to save the file on your device (please not your browser will use the term download, thorough nothing at this point is downloaded, it’s just transferring it from the browser buffer to your file system)
6. Depending on your browser settings, you will either find your file in the Downloads folder, the folder you had set for downloads or the location you had chosen when presented with the download dialog of your browser.
7. This completes the transfer. You can close the tab. Any new transfers to you will be opened in a new browser tab. If you like to be able to send a file yourself, you do that too, just follow the “File sending” instructions.
Please do note, to be able to receive a file, you need an active account. If you don’t have one, you will be given the option to create one when opening the receiving link.
